Choose plain numbers, Page N, N of M or Page N of M. Total-based formats count only the pages inside the selected numbering range and begin at 1, so excluding a cover also excludes it from M. Advanced options let you use regular or bold Helvetica, choose an 8–24 pt size, set an exact six-digit text color and move the number 12–72 points inward from the page edge. The local preview reflects those settings before the PDF is sent.

After processing, PdfnMore reports the measured request completion time instead of claiming hidden server-side stages. Check the first and last numbered pages and any rotated pages before replacing your original. PdfnMore normalizes page rotation only where a number is added so visible placement stays tied to the displayed edge. Jobs are bounded to readable, unencrypted PDFs of up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages so unusually page-dense files fail explicitly instead of running without a product limit.
The current tool adds visible Arabic numerals to one contiguous physical page range in a readable, unencrypted PDF up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages. It supports six positions, plain numerals, Page N, N of M and Page N of M, plus a custom starting number for the non-total formats, regular or bold Helvetica, six-digit text colors, 8–24 pt font sizes and 12–72 pt margins. Total-based formats begin at 1 and use the selected numbering-range length as M. Facing-page mirroring, odd/even-only rules, Roman numerals, multiple independent numbering sections, custom font families, opacity controls and dynamic renumbering after later page edits are not live yet.
Frequently asked questions about Add Page Numbers
Can I leave a cover page unnumbered?
Yes. Set Number from page to 2, or to the first physical PDF page that should receive a visible number. For N of M and Page N of M, only the selected numbering range is counted in M.
Can I change the format, weight and color of PDF page numbers?
Yes. Open Advanced options to choose Number only, Page N, N of M or Page N of M, regular or bold Helvetica, an 8–24 pt size, a six-digit text color and a 12–72 pt page-edge margin. Total-based formats begin at 1 and use the selected numbering-range length as M, and the local preview updates before processing.
Does the preview upload my PDF, and which PDFs can I process?
The preview is rendered locally from the selected PDF and does not upload it. Processing begins only after you choose Add page numbers. The current job accepts readable, unencrypted PDFs up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages; split larger or more page-dense files first and unlock password-protected PDFs with authorization before processing.
