Redaction is useful for personal data, account numbers, addresses, signatures, confidential clauses and other information that must be removed before a PDF is shared.
Why drawing a black box is not enough
Review every page carefully before downloading. The current production method prioritizes secure removal over editability by rebuilding pages as images, so links, forms, annotations, selectable text and vector content do not remain interactive.
The current production Redact PDF supports one PDF up to 50 MB and 30 pages with up to 100 manually drawn redaction rectangles. Pages are rasterized and rebuilt at 180 DPI after black boxes are applied, so output can be larger and interactive PDF features are flattened.
Frequently asked questions about Redact PDF
Does Redact PDF permanently remove covered text?
Yes in the current V1 workflow. PdfnMore rebuilds the pages as flattened images after applying the redaction boxes, so the original text objects are not retained underneath them.
Can I undo a redaction after processing?
No. Keep the original PDF. Once the flattened redacted result is downloaded and shared, the removed content cannot be restored from that output.
Will links, forms and selectable text remain?
No. The current secure V1 rasterizes pages during redaction, which removes interactive features and selectable text from the final PDF.
